"Om" The sacred sound of the Universe, the essence of ultimate reality, the unification of all that is.
"Asta Mandala" (Ashtamangala with ashta meaning 8 and mangala meaning auspicious in Sanskrit)- the 8 Auspicious signs of Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainisnm and Sikhism, including the parasol, the pair of golden fish, the treasure vase, the white lotus, the conch shell, the endless knot, the victory banner and the wheel of Dharma.
Throughout history the nature and order of the Ashtamangala has varied, however all cultures have revered the divine attributes in association with the physical form of the Buddha. In Buddhism, the 8 symbols of good fortune represent the offerings made by the Devas to Shakyamuni Buddha when he gained enlightenment.
