Devdar Rope Incense Bundle:
40x Sea Green Coloured Rope (Dhupaya) Incenses (each one approx 9cm long)- burn time is approximately 30 mins per rope.
Base ingredient: Himalayan Cedarwood mixed with aromatic Himalayan herbs.
Dhupaya incense is traditional to the indigenous people of the Newari Community in Nepal, who burn rope style incense daily during meditation practice and as offerings to the Gods, popular in both Hindu and Buddhist traditions. It is made by turning aromatic herbs foraged from the Himalayas into finely powdered form and then wrapping them in very thin strips of Lokta paper (an ancient form of Nepalese artisan made paper) and gently twisting it into what appears to be rope-like incense.
Meaning: Devdar is the name of the Himalayan Cedar tree or "wood of the Gods", it is a hugely popular ingredient in Nepalese incense revered for its ant-bacterial, medicinal properties and has been used to create incense (especially temple incense)by monks since ancient times, it represents spiritual dedication, faith and has calming properties allowing the mind to easily let go of any surrounding chaos or emotional heaviness in order to prepare itself for meditation.
Packaging: Each bundle is wrapped in 100% recyclable lokta paper.
Please note: our Stupa Incense Burners have been specifically made to hold rope and thicker style Nepalese incense.
